Johnny Depp is to direct a new documentary about rock legend Keith Richards. It`ll be the movie star`s first directorial project since 1997`s The Brave.

Depp and Richards are longtime friends and The Rolling Stones star played the actor`s father in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World`s End.

The actor says, "I`m very touched that Keith has agreed to show up in front of my cameras."
