Beijing has made the initiative to make Kiev a free trade zone
China supported the proposal of creating a free trade zone with Ukraine, said the Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Du Wei in the first day of the week at the first international Ukrainian forum of the silk road.
"The Chinese side made a proposal at the working level the ambitious goal of ? the development of Ukrainian-Chinese free trade zone, hoping to activate the research of this issue with the Ukrainian side ", - the expression quotes the Ambassador RIA " Novosti Ukraina ".

Prior to this it was stated that the cargo sent from Ukraine to bypass Russia for the delivery of goods on the silk road, not coming back from China due to the lack of buyers. On 2 February it was announced that the Ukrainian train, carrying goods to bypass Russia to China via the experimental route, arrived at the final destination. The journey took 17 days instead of the estimated 2 weeks because of delays in Kazakhstan. January 14, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Georgia signed a Protocol on establishment of preferential tariffs for cargo transportation along the route in question.
