Russian military aircraft took off from an airbase in Iran Russian military aircraft for the first time after the Islamic revolution of 1979 conducted flights over Syria airbase in Iran.

All aircraft of Russia returned safely to their home airfields after the successful "combat mission", the statement said.

Tehran and Moscow "are the strategic cooperation in the fight against terrorism in Syria and to share their objects and opportunities to achieve this goal," said Tuesday the Secretary of the Supreme national security Council Ali Shamkhani in an interview with the Islamic Republic (IRNA News).
