South Ossetia remembers the tragic events of 8 years ago, when it started an armed invasion of Georgian troops. Killed hundreds of civilians.

On this day, exactly 8 years ago, when the world watched the opening of the Beijing Olympics, Saakashvili was at one time the President of Georgia, said that the military operation in South Ossetia will not. And the same evening at struck Tskhinvali, the Georgian "Grad". The first impact was on the order of the Russian peacekeeping forces. Multiple rocket launchers were beaten at the barracks where the soldiers slept, 37 peacekeepers were killed. What is left of the barracks, now a memorial.
