China has completed construction of the world's largest seaplane. AG600 amphibian the size of a Boeing 737 built in order to use it to fight forest fires and to carry out sea rescue operation, said state news Agency Xinhua.

With a maximum takeoff weight of 53.5 tons, AG600 is the largest seaplane in the world, told Xinhua. It has a range of 4,500 kilometers and can collect 12 tonnes of water in just 20 seconds.

Earlier this month China unveiled its first home-grown large military transport aircraft, as the country wants to significantly expand its air power. Y-20, with a maximum takeoff weight of 200 tons, officially entered the people's liberation army (PLA) at a ceremony on Wednesday in the southwestern city of Chengdu, according to the Ministry of defense of China.

The aircraft is designed for transportation of goods and people over long distances in difficult weather conditions, the Y-20 has four turbofan engine is reportedly able to overcome 4,500 kilometers with a full load. Its range will cover almost 8,000 miles in the carriage of 40 tons of cargo.

The plane is part of a massive modernization program of the armed forces of China, the world's largest, which includes the development of aircraft carriers, anti-satellite missiles and stealth fighters.
