The U.S. and South Korea agreed to deploy advanced military defense system that could intercept North Korean missiles after the test by Pyongyang in defiance of UN resolutions.

After several months of negotiations, the two governments said they are in the final stage of negotiations about the system called Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), which must be installed.
