Typhoon "Nepartak" hit Taiwan Super Typhoon "Nepartak" appeared off the coast of Taiwan early Friday, about 15 kilometers South from Eastern city of Taitung, tearing roofs off houses, overturning cars and showering everything with rain.

At the moment we know of one dead man and numerous injuries to other people, according to the Central emergency operations center in Taiwan. The wind of Typhoon reached up to 240 kph (150 mph).

The storm struck the Eastern coast of Taiwan with heavy rain and wind. In social networks there were photos showing the cars destroyed by the onslaught. In some places have already seen more than 300 mm of rain in just the last 12 hours, while conditions are expected to deteriorate throughout the Central and southern part of Taiwan for a further 12 hours.

The storm is expected to leave Taiwan on Friday and will hit East China early Saturday morning local time.

At least 15 thousand people were evacuated from the most affected areas while officials reported two railway systems in the country, which is out of order.

The storm showered the region with fierce winds, rain and there was a shortages of electricity, according to CNN affiliate SETTV, violent gusts of wind felled trees and smashed Windows in different places.
