Corruption, mismanagement and failure to adhere to standard safety procedures compromised the immigration Department of Malaysia, to leave the country vulnerable to terrorists and human trafficking.

Earlier this month, local authorities suspected the group of people trafficking, which allegedly sending illegal migrants in Geneva. Traders are suspected of sabotaging immigration computer system in 2010, intentionally breaking them, so that people could bypass the computerized checks, including facial recognition and entry into the country.

Police have arrested 19 people suspected of trafficking in persons, including two employees of the immigration service. Peter Chalk, a political scientist for the RAND Corporation, told CNN that the incident posed a threat to the internal security environment of Malaysia.

"About 130 citizens of Malaysia went to Syria and Iraq to fight with terrorists. Identification of those who wish to return to the country will be difficult without the use of facial recognition."

"If security was violated as a result of corruption, it may seriously undermine the credibility of the overall ability of the state to combat terrorism. Especially in light of recent revelations made by members of the armed forces, that was found 70 army personnel, who collaborated with ISIS.

"Even if it's just one person, it is a danger for the country, but if you let two or three terrorists to enter the country, they can create chaos," said a local newspaper the Malay Mail Onli Jaslan.

In Malaysia so far detained about 160 citizens on suspicion of terrorism, including senior technician of the air force, responsible for the safety of VIPs and the police officer who checks the Luggage for the presence of explosives at the international airport in Kuala Lumpur. At least another 19 Malaysians, known to have been killed in the fighting in Iraq and Syria, some as suicide bombers.
