The Council of the European Union (EU) agreed on a negotiating position on abolition of visa regime for Georgia, but said that the visa-free regime can begin to work only at the same time with the entry into force of the European mechanism to suspend visa-free regimes.
"The permanent Committee authorized the EU confirmed the European Commission proposal to grant visa-free regime for Residents of EU countries travelling to the site of Georgia and to Residents of this state who go to the site of the European Union for up To 90 days per period of 180 days ", ? quotes news Agency the message of the EU Council.
"The Council of the EU notes that the entry into force of the agreement on visa liberalization with Georgia has to happen at the same time with the introduction of a new (European) mechanism of freezing of a visa-free regime ", ? according to the document.
