The EU has linked the abolition of visas with Georgia, creating a system freeze visa-free regime
The Council of the European Union (EU) agreed on a negotiating position on abolition of visa regime for Georgia, but said that the visa-free regime can begin to work only at the same time with the entry into force of the European mechanism to suspend visa-free regimes.
"The permanent Committee authorized the EU confirmed the European Commission proposal to grant visa-free regime for Residents of EU countries travelling to the site of Georgia and to Residents of this state who go to the site of the European Union for up To 90 days per period of 180 days ", ? quotes news Agency the message of the EU Council.
"The Council of the EU notes that the entry into force of the agreement on visa liberalization with Georgia has to happen at the same time with the introduction of a new (European) mechanism of freezing of a visa-free regime ", ? according to the document. As noted, the mechanism of freezing of a visa-free regimes ? this is a fundamentally new document, which is currently developing the European external action service. To date the abolition of visas was in practice an irreversible process, for their new introduction it was necessary to denounce the agreement on visa-free regime that the European Union would be extremely difficult to create, since for this we need a unanimous decision of all EU countries. In terms of migration fall and after promises by Brussels the visa-free regime for Turkey, Ukraine and Georgia, the EU institutions decided to make an automatic procedure which will enable in the administrative order to suspend the visa-free regime with the 3rd country, if that country " abused it ". An example of such a breach can be a massive entry into the EU without visa of persons who try to illegally emigrate or to work in the EU countries. Remember, at the end of September, the European diplomatic source in Brussels close to the European Parliament (EP) said that the conclusion about the transition of the European Union on visa-free regime for short trips of citizens of Georgia and Ukraine is unlikely to be accepted by the EU Until the end of 2016. However, on 5 September, the Committee of the European Parliament (EP) civil liberties, internal and General Affairs, which supported the abolition of visas between the EU and Georgia and the breakaway Republic of Kosovo, said that the expression of the will on visa-free regime with Ukraine will be held at the end of September or mid-October. Note that the abolition of visas for Residents of Georgia and Ukraine entering the European Union will not affect traveling for work.
