North Korea vehemently rejected the UN sanctions, calling the members of the Security Council a puppet of the United States. Defiant statement came Thursday, after South Korea and Japan announced additional restrictions on States, including visits of foreign guests and nuclear experts.

In addition, South Korea has said it will block the entry to North Korea for all foreign missile and nuclear experts. On Friday, the government of Japan confirmed that they will take similar measures and banned the entry of Japanese ships that want to dock in North Korea.

At the meeting of the national security Council on 2 December, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said that the government has decided to tighten sanctions for repeated nuclear tests and abduction of foreign citizens by North Korea.

The UN security Council already has imposed one set of sanctions against North Korea in 2016. "Today's resolution includes hard and most comprehensive sanctions regime ever imposed by the Security Council," said UN Secretary-General ban Ki-moon in his speech on Wednesday.
