The Minister of culture Vladimir Medinsky today told media representatives that the Russians in the past year were more to visit the cinemas more often to watch domestic films.

In support of this he cited figures that say that the share of Russian films in our market increased by half a percentage point and reached the value of 18.4. This growth was accompanied by a record of cash revenue, which was formed by citizens of Russia when attending domestic films. Russian movie got from the audience of 8.6 billion rubles, which was a new record for all time of its existence.

One of the reasons for the growing popularity of Russian cinema is that last year was devoted to the cinema of Russia. Growth potential is also supported by a continuous programme of cinefication sreynich and small Russian cities.
