2 400 Iraqi civilians have fled from the Western Mosul In just 24 hours almost 2 400 Iraqi civilians have fled from the Western Mosul, where government forces are fighting against ISIS, said officials on Sunday. They took refuge in a refugee camp and airport al-Koura South of Mosul.

Officials added that since the launch of military operation in Western Mosul on February 19, the total number of refugees has reached 3888.

On Saturday, the Federal police of Iraq in the Twitter reported that more than 50 civilians have been killed or maimed at the time when they fled to the village, which is 9 miles West of Mosul.

ISIL opened fire from mortars and small arms at the time, as civilians fled from Mosul, said the major Mustafa al-Iraqi on Sunday.

"Meanwhile, anti-terrorist forces liberated the neighborhood of al-mA'mun and raised the Iraqi flag over the buildings," said Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Jarallah, the commander of Iraqi forces in Nineveh. Meanwhile, Federal Iraqi police defused a vehicle placed LIH with a large container of "1000 litres of poison gas" near the Mosul airport.
