Russia accused of meddling in elections in France According to a recent report of researchers of cyber security, the campaign of the candidate in presidents of France Emmanuela Makron was hacked in recent weeks by hackers, using methods that are similar to break-ins in the United States, aimed at Democratic national Committee last year.

Tokyo cyber security company Trend Micro reports that it has discovered four fake web domain that was very similar to the domain names campaign Macron - apparently to try to deceive unwary workers campaign.

The firm is not able to determine whether got any staff campaign for any traps or was compromised in any campaign materials. Assistant Macron campaign Benjamin Haddad said the campaign was aware of the report, but did not say whether she found any hacking.

French officials said that French intelligence services carried out prevention campaigns to prevent hacker attacks.

To track the perpetrators can be difficult. But experts on cybersecurity say that the French organization had previously been the target of hackers with ties to Russia. For example, when in 2015, broadcaster TV5 Monde has been hacked, researchers from cybersecurity firm FireEye said that it was made by Russian hackers APT28 units supported by Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin denies any interest in meddling in elections in France.
But analysts say that Putin has all the reasons to endorse a conservative nationalist Marine Le Pen, the centrist over the Makron in the upcoming elections.
