Trump will be a "broker" for Israeli-Palestinian peace President Donald trump on Wednesday vowed to work "mediator or arbitrator" to promote a peaceful settlement between Israelis and Palestinians. He said this to the President of the Palestinian authority Mahmoud Abbas at the White house. "We'll do it," trump promised.

Trump reiterated the need for Israelis and Palestinians to promote peace through direct negotiations, and called on Palestinian leaders to "speak with one voice against incitement to violence and hatred."

The Palestinian leader expressed his support for the decision of conflict involving two States, welcoming the role of the tramp as a mediator in the peace talks. He said that he has "hope" in the prospects for peace with trump in this role, because he does not doubt the intelligence of the President in the negotiations. "I believe that we are able under your guidance and with your wisdom, to become partners - these partners have to sign the historic peace agreement, Abbas said.

But while trump is widely talked about their desire to conclude a peace Treaty and some of the barriers to the deal, Abbas elaborated on the specific complaints and demands of the Palestinians. Abbas spoke about the importance of developing solutions that would resolve the plight of Palestinian refugees and prisoners in Israeli jails, citing "the suffering of my people." "Mr. President, the time has come for Israel to end the occupation of our people and our land," said Abbas, referring to the Palestinian territory in the West Bank under Israeli control.

Abbas's visit takes place 2 months after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited trump in the White house, where the friendly relations between the two men was in full swing. Although the meeting with Netanyahu trump meant an era of warmer relations between the U.S. and Israel than existed under President Barack Obama, trump is also somewhat softened his stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Trump has called Netanyahu "a little stay in the settlements", although he said he "wants" to see how the U.S. Embassy moved to Jerusalem, he gave no indication that it will happen soon.
