Soloist Audioslave and Soundgarden Chris Cornell suicide Soloist Audioslave and Soundgarden Chris Cornell committed suicide, announced a health inspector in a statement. Musician hanged himself, the statement said, adding that "the full autopsy report is not yet completed".

52-year-old Cornell died Wednesday night after a speech in Detroit. A family friend called 911 about midnight Thursday after he went to Cornell and found that the musician shows no signs of life. He was found lifeless in the bathroom of the MGM Grand Detroit, said a spokesman for the Detroit police Department, Michael woody. On arrival ambulance Cornell was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

Cornell was in Detroit, speaking with Soundgarden in the USA, which was launched last month. His departure was "unexpected," said his spokesman, Brian Bambi in a statement to CNN. "His wife Vicki and his family were shocked upon learning of his unexpected and sudden death, they work closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause," - said in a statement. Cornell began his career on the rock scene in Seattle. The most successful single, "Like a Stone" was released in 2003. The defining moment of the band was concert 2005 in Cuba, which at that time was declared the country's first concert of the American rock band.
