On the coast of Sicily is hosting the summit of G-7 On the coast of Sicily, the President of Donald trump and his colleagues of the 6 most powerful countries gathered for a two-day summit - "seven" - to discuss the most pressing problems of the world.

The talks between the leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States over the next two days will cover the following issues: global economic issues and the civil war in Syria with the Russian aggression and the fight against ISIS. This will allow the new leaders - from trump to the newly elected President of France Emmanuel Makron - and veterans - such as German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe - the ability to shape global events.

For the third year in a row Russia has no seat at the summit, formerly known as "the eight". Nevertheless, Russia will still be in the centre of the debate between the assembled heads of state. Russia withdrew from the group after its invasion and annexation of Crimea, and it remained on the sidelines amid ongoing refusal to return the territory to Ukraine and its continued support of separatist rebels in Eastern Ukraine. Moscow's actions around the world only increased fears about Russia during the year after the last G-7 summit - and these actions can also complicate the conversation this year.
