Iran has launched missiles at Syria Iran's military Sunday said it launched several missiles in Eastern Syria, targeting ISIL fighters in response to the double attack that shook Tehran on June 7.

For the first time in 3 decades, Iran has fired missiles in another country and it represents a serious escalation of Iran's role in the war with Syria. Corps the Islamic revolutionary guard (IRGC) said on its official news site, Sepah News that several missiles "ground-land" medium-range missiles were launched from bases in Kermanshah province, Western Iran.

We will remind, 6 attackers killed at least 16 people in the building of the Parliament of Iran and the sanctuary dedicated to the revolutionary founder of the Republic Ayatollah Khomeini. The attack marked the first time when ISIL has claimed responsibility for the attack in Iran.

Iran supports Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in his fight against the anti-government rebel groups and ISIL, which is mainly based in the Syrian city of raqqa. Lieutenant Colonel Rick Francona, a military analyst, described the status of Iran as a "real escalation." "The choice of targets is interesting. Say they shoot the same people who planned the attack in Tehran."

Shiite-majority Iran and Sunni majority Saudi Arabia has long been embroiled in sectarian hatred.

Competitors are on opposite sides of the violent conflicts in Syria, Yemen and most recently Iran came to the support of Qatar after the Gulf countries announced a diplomatic blockade of the country, accusing it of supporting terrorism.
