1 person was killed and at least 8 people were hospitalized after attacking a van careered into a crowd near a mosque in North London. Police are treating the crime as terrorism.

According to the London police, 48-year-old man was detained by members of the public, and then arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. "No matter what the motivation of this attack, we keep the openness. Crime is seen as a terrorist act," said a senior national coordinator for terrorism Neil Basu.
