Boy George regrets about his autobiography The singer released Take It Like a Man: The Autobiography of Boy George in 1995. The books details his heroin addiction and love affairs, with George determined to tell all about his life at the time.

He now wishes he had kept a little bit back. He finds it hard that so many people think they know all about his life, but accepts it is partly his fault. "Nowadays I probably would have said less. My new thing is less is more. One thing I`ve learnt in last two or three years is that there are some things which are private, and the new me probably wouldn`t have gone as far as I did," he explained. "If I write a new book it will still be interesting but I will probably be a bit more protective of certain things."

George - real name George O`Dowd - was sentenced to 15 months in prison for the assault and false imprisonment of a male escort. He admits spending time in jail changed him, revealing he has a totally new outlook now he is free.

"The last two years have been amazing for me - really good. I did a lot of writing in jail, you get time to think. And that can be a good thing, you can use the time to be bitter or you can be constructive," he told UK show GMTV. "I read a lot of books, I read every book I thought I`d read again. I had friends sending me in books, I`d get desperate when I came near the end and needed another. I wrote a lot of songs, I wrote a lot of letters. I got ones from people I don`t know - thousands and thousands."
