"Global action needed to stop global threats," he said. "Any country that employs North Korean workers, providing any economic or military benefits, or does not fully perform the resolutions of the UN Security Council, helps and incites to dangerous regime."

Tillerson also called for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and declared that the US "will never accept nuclear weapons in North Korea." North Korea said Wednesday that it is true. Statement by the official Korean Central news Agency Pyongyang announced that the test on Tuesday was new, having nuclear capabilities ICBMs.

The Pentagon later in the evening confirmed that the test was North Korea's ICBMs. "Running continues to show that North Korea is a threat to the United States and our allies," reads the statement of the Pentagon.

North Korea said the rocket flew through a steep path that ran at 2800 km (1 741 miles) above the Earth before falling into the sea from the Korean Peninsula to 930 km (578 miles) from its launch pad.

Analysts said that if the missile was launched according to the standard, more flat trajectory, it could reach Alaska.

The US and South Korea said they held a joint event in response to the launch of North Korea. The South Korean statement said the exercise, which was "meant as a strong warning against North Korean provocations," passed along the East coast of South Korea and "demonstrated the exact eye to guide the enemy in case of emergency".

Teaching - a clear signal of the Pentagon that the U.S. and South Korea do not intend to stop joint military exercises in exchange for North Korea stop its missile and nuclear tests, as suggested by China and Russia.
