THAAD successfully intercepted the ball during the test The American missile defense system on Tuesday successfully intercepted its target during a test run, said the American Agency for missile defense.

According to the press release, the missile defence system (THAAD) successfully shot down a target in Alaska. "I'm proud of the team of government and contractors that have performed this test," - said in a statement, the MDA Director Lieutenant General Sam graves. "This test again demonstrates the capabilities of the weapon system THAAD's ability to intercept and destroy threat ballistic missiles."

Officer of the Ministry of defense said that the test is not associated with the launch of a new Intercontinental ballistic missile North Korea (IDB).

Each THAAD system consists of five major components: interceptors, launchers, radar, fire control unit and auxiliary equipment in accordance with company security and aerospace Lockheed Martin, which acts as a General contractor. It is designed for firing at small, medium, and intermediate ballistic missiles with shorter ranges than ICBMs that North Korea launched on 4 July.

According to the IDB, the us military and intelligence community have begun a second look at the latest information on nuclear warheads of North Korea. The escalation of the nuclear program by Pyongyang has also led to a closer study of the effectiveness of missile defence systems, supported by the United States and its allies. The us military have begun to deploy a THAAD system in South Korea earlier this year, much to the chagrin of some neighbors of Seoul.
