American scientists have found that a large Earth-threatening comet whose core diameter is not less than 1 km, 7 times more than previously thought.

The infrared WISE telescope has helped scientists to determine the number of comets that threaten Earth. Such comets are on average twice more than the corresponding heavenly bodies, the movement of which is determined by the gravitational introduction of Jupiter.

NASA reported that, perhaps, every object that is close to the Ground with a diameter greater than 1 km and if such power would collide with our planet, the power of the explosion is many times greater than all existing nuclear capacity. Just counted about 164 comets, 56 of which long-period, they make one revolution around the Sun over periods from centuries to millions of years.

Earlier in July, astronomers warned the inhabitants of the earth of a new space threat. To the planet at great speed flew to the asteroid, which is a danger to humanity. The comet flew near the planet, on the morning of 22 July.
