According to Russian state media, the festivities began in the far Eastern city of Vladivostok, where dozens of naval ships and submarines of the Pacific fleet of the country was exhibited on public display. Other celebrations included a demonstration of the flagship aircraft carrier fleet, the Admiral Kuznetsov, near his base in the Northern city of Severomorsk.

The main event of the day was spent in St. Petersburg, where Russian President Vladimir Putin watched the parade with the participation of 50 warships and submarines and 40 aircraft. The parade was attended by more than 5,000 sailors of the Baltic, black sea, Northern, Pacific fleets and the Caspian flotilla.

"History of Russia is inseparable from the wins of her courageous and fearless, fleet", - said Putin in his speech on the history of the Navy, in which he outlined the continued importance of the Navy of the country. "Today it is much made for development and update of the Navy introduces new ships, improved training and readiness of the fleet", - he said.

According to "Russia Today", at the air show was attended by several su-33 and MiG-29K, which was recently deployed in Syria. State media reported that Putin announced the addition of 30 new ships to the Russian Navy next year.
