Two people were killed when a small plane made an emergency landing on the beach in Costa da Caparica in Portugal.

The victims were 8-year-old girl and a 56-year-old man, according to the Portuguese national Maritime authority on Wednesday. Both victims were strangers to each other. Officials said both victims spent time at the beach and were not able to escape, when the plane made an emergency landing.

A teenage girl also suffered minor injuries, evading plane, said Jose Isabel from Portuguese Maritime police. Isabel said that all the victims were Portuguese. Two men who were on Board the plane, the instructor and the pilot remained unharmed. The reason of emergency landing is unknown. None of the people involved have not been identified.

Isabel said that the plane was a training and men were "navigational training".
