U.S. Secretary of state Rex W. Tillerson called on the Minister for foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov on September 5.

Both sides discussed developments on the Korean Peninsula due to North Korea's actions in the field of nuclear and missile tests. The Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has unequivocally spoken out against the development of nuclear weapons in the region of North East Asia. He also said to look for ways of resolving the situation is possible only through diplomatic efforts and negotiations are required, showing patience and calm.

Lavrov informed his counterpart that Russia is ready to consider a U.S. resolution in the UN security Council condemning the DPRK's actions. In addition, he noted that the world should cultivate the idea that this problem has a military solution.

Regarding bilateral relations of the USA and Russia foreign Minister Lavrov told his counterpart that the Russian seizure of diplomatic property is a gross violation of international law. He informed Tillerson that the Russian side will go to court procedures.
