Russian President Vladimir Putin evaded a direct answer to the question of journalists about his participation in the presidential race of 2018. The intrigue remained after he said that everything will be known at the time when the race will begin officially.

Vladimir Putin expressed the view that once elections begin, "everything stops working", and he believes that now is not the time for the competition and spending time on hot air and "we have to work now."

He expressed confidence that all candidates for the office of President of the Russian Federation will tell about it only then, when the time set by law.
