The armed forces of the Union state of Russia and Belarus on September 14 was alerted for participation in joint exercises.

The exercises began with the presentation of special packages with the orders of the General staffs of the commanders of units and formations to perform combat training tasks. The main objective of the exercises is to Russian and Belarusian military have worked out joint actions , mutual understanding, and the ability to achieve joint efforts of the tasks.

During the exercise will involve 6 polygons on the territory of Belarus and three of the landfill on the territory of Russia. During the exercise, firing will be conducted with the use of ground troops, aviation and air defence. The Ministry of defence of the Russian Federation said that the exercise aims to work out the defensive actions of the armed forces and is not directed against other countries.

According to the defense Ministry from the Russian side will employ more than 5,000 people from Belarus, more than 7,000 people. The exercise will be the participation of 70 aircraft and helicopters, hundreds of tanks, armored vehicles, artillery and rocket launchers, and other equipment . Additionally, the exercise will involve 10 warships.
