The Russian foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made a strong statement regarding the United States during his interview with "Al-Sharq al-Awsat."

Sergei Lavrov said bluntly that the United States staged a deadly provocations against the Russian military in Syria. Moreover, he questioned the effectiveness of counter-terrorism methods of the US.

The Minister reminded about all the more frequent "mistakes" by the coalition U.S. strikes on Syrian forces, abetting the terrorists provocations against Russian troops, attacks on civilians. Moreover, he said that the US coalition is in the territory of a sovereign state is illegal. He also concluded from the performance of the US coalition that tactics of vested interests and double standards are not able to bring peace to the region. Though, probably, for US it is not the goal.
