The presidential election campaign officially started in Russia, the proper resolution of the Council of the Federation was published in " Rossiyskaya Gazeta ".

Candidates from political parties and independent candidates already in the first day of the week have the opportunity to begin the procedure, official nomination at the conventions or meetings of the initiative groups and to submit the necessary documents to the CEC.

The Central election Commission on 18 December to approve the plan of the upcoming campaign. According to the head of the CEC of Ella Pamfilova, the desire to participate in the elections expressed already 23 people, and among them the current leader Vladimir Putin.
