The actress had been planning to tie the knot with millionaire businessman Michael Axtmann on May 22, and has spoken extensively about her excitement at the nuptials. She sparked speculation the ceremony might be cancelled after she changed her relationship status to single on social networking website Facebook recently.

She has now confirmed the marriage will not be taking place, but has not given any reason for the change. "Tara Reid has confirmed that she will not be moving forward with her May 22 nuptials," a statement said.

It is unknown if Tara and Michael are still together, or if they will be marrying at a later date.

The pair started dating last year, and got engaged while enjoying a romantic dinner in January.

Tara, 34, had previously said she couldn`t wait to tie the knot, explaining she wanted a "princess" wedding dress. As Michael is German, she said they were considering having a ceremony in America and his native country, adding they wanted a wedding that wasn?t "small, but not big".
