A fan paid $20,000 for a date with Janice Dickinson The former supermodel offered herself as a prize for an auction in aid of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), held at the twelfth annual Bay Area Hope Gala at San Francisco`s Ritz Carlton hotel on Saturday. As part of the prize, Janice agreed to welcome the highest bidder to Hollywood , take them out for lunch and then give them a makeover ahead of a photoshoot.

The lucky winner is yet to be revealed, but Janice said she was determined to make the day out as special as possible. "Whoever they are, they`re going to get a lot more for their money than they paid," she laughed.

Other lots up for grabs included trips to New York and Hawaii , the chance to watch the finale of US talent contest American Idol, and tickets to the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

All the money raised will be used to research diabetes, in the hope of making the lives of adults and children living with it easier.
