The 19-year-old British singer shot to fame last year with her debut single Mama Do. She loves being a celebrity because she gets to meet other stars and is often given designer clothes and accessories to take home. Pixie still lives with her parents and admits she receives so many gifts she rarely has to splash out on expensive purchases.

"I haven`t really had any extravagant buys yet," she told Lipsy magazine. "For red carpet things and big events and parties, I usually get lent the dresses - and I`ve also been really lucky with designers and labels being generous and gifting me some beautiful things, which is good because I haven`t had time to go shopping!"

Pixie insists she has remained down-to-earth despite her chart success in the past year. The star believes her determination to make it as a singer and her strong work ethic have helped her break into the music industry and she has warned other budding musicians it is a tough career to pursue.

"I think that if you really want it, you have to go for every audition and every opportunity," she explained. "I used to scour the internet and papers all the time. You have to write your own music, set up a MySpace, and get your stuff heard. Just keep going and going and I think eventually - if you have the right dedication and persistence - you will get there. You`ve got to be an opportunist in this game."
