The `Love Story` singer was delighted to hear the `Poker Face` hitmaker has praised her as a "great songwriter" because she is such a big fan of the eccentric star.

She said: "I`m a huge fan of hers and hearing that really, really made me smile. I appreciated that.

"That absolutely made my day when I read that because I`m a huge fan of hers."

The 20-year-old star is a particular fan of the `Just Dance` singer because of her unique style.

She added: "I remember the first time I ever saw Lady Gaga on MTV`s `TRL`.

"She had like a leotard on and I just thought to myself, that`s so daring. Her music must be daring like that and I went home and I downloaded `Just Dance.` "

Praising Taylor`s `You Belong With Me`, Gaga said recently: "It`s a great song. I think it`s just because it`s very whimsical in a way that I`m not necessarily whimsical every day."
