Robin Williams is taking his movie career slowly The comedy actor admits he has been through periods where he has made too many films in a short period, and since undergoing heart surgery in early 2009 he intends to work on fewer projects.

He said: "In one two-year period I made eight movies. At one point the jokes was there`s a movie out without you in it.

"You have this idea that you`d better keep working otherwise people will forget. And that was dangerous. And then you realise, no, actually if you take a break people might be more interested in you. Now, after the heart surgery, I?ll take it slow."

The 59-year-old star also reveals he has made movies in the past to "pay bills".

He told The Guardian newspaper: "We`ll I`ve had a lot of people tell me they watched `Old Dogs` with their kids and had a good time. It paid the bills. Sometimes you have to make a movie to make money.

"You know what you`re getting into, totally. You know they`re going to make it goofy. And that`s ok."
