Basshunter arrested on sexual assault charges Basshunter has been arrested on charges of sexual assault in Scotland.

The Swedish euro-dance musician - real name Jonas Altberg - has been charged by police over an alleged sexual assault on two female fans at a Fife nightclub, where he performed.

He denies the charges and has been released on bail, but must appear at in court in January next year.

A Fife Constabulary spokesman told BBC news: "Police in Fife can confirm that a 25 year-old man has been arrested in relation to alleged offences, and has been bailed to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court in due course."

The `Now You`re Gone` hitmaker`s manager, Scott Simons, has described the allegations as "totally untrue".

On Saturday (11.12.10) the nightclub where the incident took place, Kitty`s apologised to fans on the star`s behalf, saying: "We were totally embarrassed by his conduct."

A fan was quoted by Scotland`s Daily Record newspaper saying she had encountered the star in the early hours of Friday (10.12.10) morning and was appalled at his behaviour.

Ashley Barr, 18, said: "I was embarrassed and degraded. He was a total pig. I was a fan, but now I wouldn`t open the curtains if he was playing in my back garden."
