Russia to open corruption hotline, website Russia`s Public Chamber, a state-appointed consultative body that advises the government on civic issues, is planning to launch a corruption hotline-cum-website, chamber member Anatoly Kucherena said on Friday.

It will be a clearing house for citizens` complaints and reports of suspicious activity by state and government officials, he said.

"It will be a hall of shame" - providing information on bribe takers - "so people will know what`s going on," he added.

Kucherena also proposed corruption ratings be published by regions.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has identified several tasks to uproot rampant corruption, including genuine investigations into corruption related crimes, punishing those guilty of such crimes, introducing modern methods of accounting, the filing of tax declarations by all state and government officials, and reforming the judiciary and the law enforcement system.
