The 30-year-old socialite - whose basketball star boyfriend Kris Humphries proposed last month with a 20.5 carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring - has revealed the couple will have started trying for their first child by the time 2011 draws to a close.

Asked whether they are hoping to become parents anytime soon, Kim said: "I hope so, I really hope so. Maybe by the end of the year. Well, I won`t have a baby by the end of the year, but maybe we`ll start trying by the end of the year. After the wedding."

The `Keeping Up with the Kardashians` star also revealed she will be keeping her current surname once she ties the knot with Kris, but will be known as "Mrs. Humphries" at home.

She added: "I think at home and privately, for sure I`ll be Mrs. Humphries. Maybe I will make it Kim Kardashian-Humphries, but I think I will always have Kardashian for work. But at home, Humphries."

Kim has made no secret of her desire to have a large family, but recently admitted she had scaled down her plans for six children after seeing how difficult it has been for her sister Kourtney Kardashian to raise her 18-month-old son Mason.

She said: "I do want kids. I want four. I started at six a few years ago.

"I`ve always wanted a big family. But seeing how much hard work brining up Mason is for Kourt has given me a reality check. I don`t think I`ll be rushing into that just yet!"
