The 70-year-old actor - whose youngest son Redmond pleaded not guilty to felony firearms and drugs charges at the LAX Airport Courthouse yesterday (04.08.11) while his other son Griffin was involved in a head-on car crash earlier this week - is not feeling positive about the state of his children and is "terribly worried" for Redmond.

He told website TMZ: "We`ll come back, we`ll come back. Griffin is 45 years old, so he`ll pick himself up, he`ll find a way. Redmond is more of a problem. He has a real illness. We`re terribly worried for him. He hasn`t been in rehab for four or five months, look what`s happened."

Redmond - whose mother is late actress Farrah Fawcett - ran a red light in Santa Monica on 02.08.11, and a search of the vehicle discovered he was in possession of narcotics and weapons.

Ryan was in court to support his son, while siblings Tatum and Patrick O`Neal also made an appearance.

Redmond spent time in rehab in 2010 and remains on probation for an incident in 2009 where he brought narcotics onto the grounds of a jail facility.
