Russian mobile subscribers up 86% year-on-year MOSCOW, November 9 - Consulting companies monitoring the situation on the Russian telecoms market reported Wednesday an increase of 86% year-on-year in the number of subscribers in the country.

Advanced Communications & Media (ACM-Consulting), an independent market research company, said the number of subscribers in Russia, calculated by the number of valid SIM cards, had risen by 53.5 million, reaching 115.8 million on October 31.

iKS-Consulting, a consulting and research company specializing in the telecoms market in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, said Russian revenue from mobile content services grew 20% year-on-year in the first nine months, reaching $205 million, of which logos and ring-tones accounted for 55%.
