The Titanic tour with a Russian twist Russian oceanographers are giving history fans and opportunity of a life time - to dive on the wreck of the Titanic.

´Intrepid travelers will get to dive two and half miles below the surface of the North Atlantic to explore wreck site in a Russian Mir submersible.

Deep Ocean Expeditions are organizing the trips to mark the 100th Anniversary of the ship?s sinking in 1912.

About eight people are paying $60,000 each for the mind blowing journey.

Two Mir submersibles will plunge down to the wreck, each providing enough space for two tourists and a pilot.

It takes about two hours to dive to the exact spot of the wreckage in the Atlantic, 380 miles off Newfoundland.

The Titanic sank on its maiden voyage on April 15 1912, after hitting an iceberg.

Fifteen hundred of the 2200 people on board perished as the liner sank.

The company behind the dives say this will probably be the last time tourists will be able to take the adrenaline plunge to view the Titanic.

Next season there will be no voyages of this kind as its feared frequent tourist tours could damage the wreck.
