Michael Jackson will be honoured with an imprint The King of Pop`s three children, Prince, 14, Paris, 13, and nine-year-old Prince Michael II - known as `Blanket` - will use his shoes and trademark sequined glove to make handprint and footprint impressions in the concrete.

Making the prints outside the theatre is a long standing Hollywood tradition and Michael`s prints will stand alongside those of George Clooney, Marilyn Monroe, Gene Kelly, Clint Eastwood and Brad Pitt.

Also on hand at the event, to be held on January 26, will be the cast of Cirque du Soleil show `Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour`, who will make a presentation.

The Cirque du Soleil production, which is inspired by the late singer`s music, is set to tour the US and Canada in 2012 before taking up residency in Las Vegas. Michael also has a star on Hollywood`s famous Walk of Fame, which is located a short distance from the theatre.

Michael died in 2009 from acute Propofol intoxication, after years of struggling with addiction to prescription drugs. While his children were shielded from the public - often wearing masks - during their earlier years, they have been in the public eye much more since his death.

Paris recently admitted she felt the masks they wore were "stupid" at the time.

She said: "I`m like, `This is stupid, why am I wearing a mask?` But I kind of realised the older I got, he only tried to protect us and he`d explain that to us too."
