The 34-year-old singer - who is married to `Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol` star Paula Patton - was spotted by police lighting up a joint while in the back of a Cadillac Escalade in Manhattan near Madison Square Park earlier on 17.02.12.

According to TMZ.com, Robin was "extremely co-operative".

A police source told New York Daily News: "He wasn`t driving. He was sitting in the car. He was arrested with a small amount of marijuana was recovered on him."

Robin was the only one arrested, and was charged with marijuana possession.

A representative for the star had no comment.

Robin released his fifth studio album `Love After War` in December 2011 after touring with `Dreamgirls` star Jennifer Hudson, and the second single from the album `Pretty Lil` Heart` featured a guest appearance from Lil Wayne.

He met actress wife Paula at the age of 16, and the pair married in 2005. They have one son, Julian Fuego Thicke, who was born in April 2010.
