The `Kill Bill` actor was apprehended by officers at his Malibu home on 09.03.12 and taken into custody on felony charges of child endangerment with cruelty to a child, but was released on 10.03.12 after posting $100,000 bail.

It is believed a family member called emergency services to the mansion Michael shares with wife Deanna and their three sons Hudson, 17, Calvin, 15, and seven-year-old Luke, though it is unclear which of the actor`s kids was involved in the fracas.

Michael`s lawyer Perry Wander said: "He found his son smoking pot and they got into an argument when he tried to take it away. It`s a family matter and Michael asks that his family`s privacy be respected."

Sheriff`s Deputy Peter Gomez confirmed: "He appeared to be under the influence of alcohol."

A spokesperson for the Sherrif`s Department said detectives on the scene "observed signs of injury to the minor" but he "did not appear to require any medical attention".

As he left custody yesterday, Michael played down the incident.

He said: "Everything`s fine. It was a misunderstanding."
