Just to prove his point, screenwriter Joe Eszterhas, who accused Mel Gibson of insanity and anti-Semitism, has released an audio recording of the Braveheart star`s expletive-ridden rant.

΄The tape transcript was published by TheWrap following a public dispute between Gibson and Eszterhas. The Basic Instinct screenwriter claims that Gibson sabotaged the movie The Maccabees about a famous 2nd century BC Jewish revolt, for anti-Semitic reasons.

Warner Bros had to suspend making The Maccabees last week, as Gibson said the script lacked "a sense of triumph". The film is a joint project between Eszterhas and Gibson, who was signed to direct it.

The Lethal Weapon star`s rant was recorded on an iPod at his home in Costa Rica on 7 December by Eszterhas`s 15-year-old son, who was a guest there with his parents. The tape reveals Mel Gibson shouting and using foul language in front of his guests, including children. Eszterhas says his family and the rest of the guests were "terrified."

"Why don`t I have a first draft of The Maccabees?" Gibson shouts at Eszterhas. "What the f**k have you been doing?"

"I go to work, you`re getting paid, I`m not! Shit! I am earning money for a filthy little c*******er who takes advantage of me! Just like every motherf**er! So hurry the f**k up!" The film-maker is then heard knocking something over.

Eszterhas says he hoped Gibson would seek professional help if his "self-control problems" were made public.
