The smitten `American Idol` host has been thinking about settling down and starting a family with his girlfriend of two years, describing the actress-and-dancer as "phenomenal".

Quizzed on Chelsea Handler`s talk show, `Chelsea Lately`, if he wants to tie the knot and have a baby, he said: "We both do."

But Ryan, 38, insisted the 25-year-old beauty would be the first to know when he was ready to make a commitment to her, not the talk show host.

The loved-up TV star continued to gush over his `Dancing with the Stars`-winning girlfriend - whose brother, Derek, is also a professional dancer - when a picture of the pair walking the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards appeared on screen.

Ryan added: "She`s so beautiful ... stunning. She`s the best part of every day."

Julianne has previously admitted Ryan was her "first celebrity crush", but was hesitant to go out with him when they first met.

She said: "I`m kind of dating my first celebrity crush, so I feel pretty fortunate.

"I was reluctant because he is such an influential guy and what if it didn`t work out? Our first date, I was so nervous that I just sat there and interviewed him with questions like, `Are you loyal?` and, `Are you close to your family?` "
