November 17 is Students International Day.

It was founded in 1941, in London, at the international meeting of students who fought against fascism. The holiday was established in memory of Check students - heroes of Resistance, that`s why November,17 is the day of solidarity between student all over the world.

In Tatarstan, the vice-minister of Youth, Sport and Tourism Department Andrey Kondratiyev congratulated students on the holiday.

In the republic there are more than 250 thousand students, most of them take part in students social organizations. In spring 2005 Tatarstan students held IVth Students Congress and they showed their skills and talents in front of the vice-chancellors of Tatarstan universities.
