At Moscow national tennis premium "Russian Cup" Nikolai Davidenko was awarded as best tennis player of current year.

"I would like to thank all Russian fans. I did my best in playing for Russia. If Safin recovers, we will try to win Davis Cup", - promised Davidenko in his video message.

He also thanked president of Russian tennis Federation Shamil Tarpishev for his efforts in popularization of this kind of sport in country.

Best female tennis player of Russia in season 2005 was recognized Maria Sharapova. Her trophy was awarded to her earlier during "Kremlin Cup" because of her intensive schedule.

Season-2005 was the most successful for Davidenko. He started from 28-th position in world rating and finished the year as 7-th racket of planet. He won tournament in Sent-Pelten, passed to semi-final of Open tournament of France and was a finalist of "Kremlin Cup" in pair class.
