Delegates of Moscow City Duma appealed to Russian Federal Assembly and Ministry of education and science with demand to cancel amendments to law "About education".

In their opinion, these amendments mean that direction of institution of higher education will not be chosen but appointed by organs of executive power. Delegates think that after governors who are not elected any more, high school can also lose its independence.

Delegates of Moscow city Duma are displeased with 2 amendments. First one concerns introduction of state attestation of candidates on rector position, and second - establishment of presidential position in institutions of high education, whose candidature must be presented by organs of executive power. Capital legislators think that it will lead to appearance of "state governors in institutions of high education".

Meanwhile the author of bill delegate of State Duma Nikolai Bulaev considers that matter doesn`t concern such innovations. By his words, current law says that institution must be governed by person, who passed attestation. But there is no organ that can examine candidates; therefore, it must be created. Talking about presidents of institutions - this must be a present to rectors who became pensioners.

It was know about amendments to law "About education" on November 23. Since 1993 position of rector is electoral.
