First time in history scientists observe formation of new sea.

Scientists-geophysicists from Ethiopia, USA and Europe came to conclusion that recently appeared fault in mountain, situated in north-east of the country, testifies about formation of new sea.

Fault stretched for more than 50 kilometers in length and reached 4 meters in width. It was formed after earthquake of September 14 in distant region of Afar desert.

Every year eastern part of Ethiopia moves 2 cm away from African continent. "Sooner or later, as fault stretches, water starts to arrive from Red sea and Adenine bay". As a result, new bay will form on territory of desert and will turn into the sea afterwards. Scientists suppose it will happen in million of years.

For constant observation of new sea formation, scientists from several countries plan to equip scientific camp near the fault.
