Generally Russian people don`t like the idea of the US support for democracy in Russia.

According to the poll conducted by the All-Russian centre of public opinion studies, every second respondent disapprove the US help in democracy establishment, and only every third perceive it in the positive way.

Those who approve the US support are mostly young people from 18 to 24 (46 %). The respondents of other age groups don?t show such an approval. The share of opponents of American support grows up to 50 % among people of 25-34, and to 56% among people of 60 and older.
The opponents of the US support reason their opinion saying that Russia would have to pay for it (32%), 18% are sure that Russia possess enough its own means for democracy development, and 9% insist on the fact that the US allocate money for weakening and ruining Russia.
The All-Russian poll was conducted on December 4-5 2005, and covered 1594 people in 153 inhabited locality.
